Resort Opening Update – 11 June 20

June 11, 2020 | Latest Announcements, Latest News

Dear owners,

I am pleased to announce that we are increasing capacity at three Club Wyndham South Pacific resorts from Monday, June 15.

INCREASED CAPACITY AT ADDITIONAL RESORTS

New Zealand has now declared it is COVID-19 free, so we have increased the maximum occupancy at Ramada Resort by Wyndham Rotorua Marama and Club Wyndham Wanaka to 75 per cent, effective June 15. We are still maintaining a limited occupancy for a short period as a matter of caution and to ensure that our new health and hygiene procedures are executed perfectly.

The maximum occupancy threshold at Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach will also increase to 75 per cent from June 15. The resort is a large property and many of its villas have significant space between them. An occupancy cap represents the fact that some villas adjoin and not all these will be made available.

Thank you for your patience. Your health and safety is our top priority and we are doing all we can to ensure this while making as much inventory as possible available for you to book and enjoy your ownership.

AVAILABILITY

The table below summarises the properties that still had availability in June and July earlier today. This is a guideline only and is subject to change as owners make bookings. For live availability, log in with your owner number at clubwyndhamsp.com.

You can make a booking online at clubwyndhamsp.com or by calling Owner Services:

CHANGES TO OUR COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY

As you would be aware, we created a temporary cancellation policy specifically for COVID-19 and, as restrictions are eased, we are reviewing the policy for bookings made pre COVID-19 pandemic.

While restrictions have eased across Australia and New Zealand, it is still unclear when international travel will resume, so we have extended our policy to include cancellations for destinations where you have to take an international flight up until August 31. You will be able to cancel a July booking at least 14 days prior to your check-in date and August bookings will be subject to the following cancellation periods: 30 days before check-in for bookings made 13 months to 61 days in advance, and 10 days before check-in for bookings made 60 days to 15 days in advance. If the credits from the booking are expired, you will be issued with a voucher for future use.

We are also making an amendment to the cancellation policy for resorts requiring domestic travel. If you cancel a booking made prior to May 27 more than seven days before check-in, there will be no penalty and your credits will be returned or a voucher issued for future use in place of expired credits. The change is so that, if interstate travel continues to be restricted, owners have a window of opportunity to make bookings at resorts in their state. We believe this balances the interests of these owners with those who want to hold their reservations in case travel restrictions change.

However, as stated in my last few updates all new reservations are subject to the standard club cancellation policies and the above policies will not apply.  We strongly recommend that you check your local restrictions on travel and overnight accommodation before booking.

INTERNATIONAL RESORT UPDATE

Due to the continued uncertainty surrounding international travel, bookings at club resorts in Fiji, Thailand, Indonesia, Hawaii, Europe and Japan are available only from October 1, 2020 at this time. I want to reassure you that we are following the latest information closely and we will continually to review this date. At this point, without clarity around international travel, we believe that it is simpler to accept bookings at properties where we have more certainty that you can use, rather than ongoing mass cancellations.

However, we would like to reassure you that all existing reservations will remain in place and will be continually assessed. If you live nearby one of the above resorts, feel free to contact the Owner Services team to see if our resort team would be able to accommodate you before October 1, 2020.

OPENINGS ON MONDAY

Our teams cannot wait to welcome you back to 14 resorts around Australia on Monday and, in some cases, debut refurbishments or new initiatives we have completed. To keep up to date with the development and cleaning program we have undertaken while our properties have been closed, please visit the club website, clubwyndhamsp.com.

You can click here to see our updated resort re-opening table.

We are looking forward to seeing you from Monday.
