Resort Report – 07 August

August 7, 2020 | Resort Report

The COVID-19 situation has evolved further this week, with some announcements by state governments in Australia meaning that many of our Australian Club Wyndham South Pacific owners are temporarily limited to travelling in their own states.

This week, our teams have made two changes to our cancellation policy, which you can see here. We are working hard to ensure that you do not lose credits through any forced cancellations that have occurred as a result of changes to travel restrictions through COVID-19.

GM Spotlight

We continue to profile our leaders who look after your resorts through GM Spotlight. The team at Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach were appreciative of your positive response to last week’s profile on GM Emma Todd.

This week, we introduce Acting Resort Manager Brian Blanchard, who will lead you through the features of Club Wyndham Dunsborough and the must-visit spots in Western Australia’s South West. Not all owners will be able to visit WA at this point, but we hope this will serve as inspiration for your next trip.

Club Wyndham Port Douglas

Our refurbishment of Club Wyndham Port Douglas is due to conclude in the coming days. Over the course of June, July and August, we have refurbished all 88 Club Wyndham South Pacific apartments in four stages.

Each of the apartments has been refurbished according to a fresh concept with new paint, flooring, furniture, sofa beds and artwork. There are also creative touches including built-in bedside lighting and underwater photos from the nearby Great Barrier Reef taken by an award-winning photographer.

Here are some pictures of the refurbished apartments. We have enjoyed seeing the feedback from those who have already stayed and we expect to complete the final rooms in the coming days.

Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island

Although we had to close Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island under Victoria’s Stage 3 restrictions, we are still able to continue work on the refurbishment at the property.

As the property is closed, we have been able to give the builder access to more villas. We are still working on a target completion date in October but we hope that this will assist to finish the project early. The finishing date will depend on whether there are further restrictions and/or disruptions to the supply chain.

The team at the resort is still aiming to launch the six-metre outdoor movie screen during the September holidays, but this will ultimately depend on the restrictions for large gatherings in Victoria. We will provide more information on this closer to the date.

Travellers’ Choice awards

Our resort teams would like to thank you for the extraordinary feedback you give not just through the post-stay surveys, but on public-facing platforms like TripAdvisor.

We are thrilled that Club Wyndham Denarau Island was rated the number one choice for families in the South Pacific in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards. The resort was also ranked number seven overall in the region.

Elsewhere in the portfolio, Ramada Resort by Wyndham Rotorua Marama was rated 22nd on the list of the top 25 family properties in the South Pacific region. Other club resorts recognised under the Travellers’ Choice awards were:

  • Club Wyndham Melbourne
  • Club Wyndham Dinner Plain
  • Club Wyndham Ballarat
  • Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach
  • Club Wyndham Perth
  • Club Wyndham Kirra Beach
  • Club Wyndham Surfers Paradise
  • Club Wyndham Flynns Beach
  • Club Wyndham Coffs Harbour
  • Club Wyndham Wanaka

While resort teams appreciate any honour, they particularly cherish these awards because they are based directly on the quality and quantity of customer feedback.

We appreciate your reviews. Remember, you can share photos of your own holiday experiences and learn tips and tricks to get the most out of your ownership by joining our official Facebook group. You will just need to supply your owner number.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
