NEW COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS EXTENDED TASMANIA
The Tasmanian Government has announced the extension of border closures to all other states and territories until at least December 1.
As the COVID-19 situation has evolved rapidly and has been unpredictable so far, we will not be proactively cancelling all stays at Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach before December 1 just yet but will rather make a month-by-month decision. However, it is likely that the Tasmanian border will remain closed next month at a minimum so, in the coming days, our Owner Services team will systematically work through reservations in September from owners travelling into the state.
If this applies to you, our Owner Services team will be in touch to confirm the cancellation and your credits will be returned or, if the credits have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use. There is no need for you to call unless you have moved to Tasmania and are yet to update your address.
Given that any Tasmanian travelling interstate will be forced to complete a 14-day quarantine in a hotel of the state government’s choice at their own expense on return, our team will also systematically work through September reservations for Tasmanian owners for stays in other states. If this applies to you, our Owner Services team will invite you to confirm the cancellation and your credits will be returned or, if the credits have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use.
If advice from the Tasmanian Government changes, our cancellation policy will also be reviewed.
OTHER AUSTRALIAN STATES
As Queensland and Western Australia both have provided no additional update on their border restrictions, we are extending our cancellation policy for reservations in both states into next month.
In response to Queensland Government restrictions, our Owner Services team will contact owners with a residential address in New South Wales or Victoria who have September reservations at a Queensland property and invite them to cancel their reservations. They will also contact owners with a residential address outside Western Australia who have September reservations at a Western Australia property and invite them to cancel their reservations.
If this applies to you, please confirm the cancellation and your credits will be returned or, if the credits have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use.
CLARIFICATION OF RESTRICTIONS IN NEW ZEALAND
We have also learnt that the New Zealand Government’s restrictions applying to Auckland and the surrounding region includes an area from the east to west coasts of a section of the North Island. This means that, until at least August 26, some New Zealand owners who live in the northern part of the North Island will not to be able to travel through Auckland to their reservations at Club Wyndham Wanaka and Ramada Resort by Wyndham Rotorua Marama and that leisure travellers will be unable to transit through the Auckland airport.
We have therefore changed our cancellation policy to support owners who are north of Auckland and are endeavouring to drive to either resort, North Island residents flying to Wanaka via Auckland and South Island residents flying to Auckland to reach Rotorua.
Our Owner Services team is already contacting owners with affected reservations in order to return their credits or, if the credits have expired, issue a voucher for future use.
