Resort Update – 18 June

The recent outbreaks of COVID-19 in Victoria, Queensland and, now, New South Wales, have seen some states bring back border restrictions.

Fortunately, these restrictions now often focus on hotspot areas rather than entire states, which allows travel between states. While this targeted approach is welcome, we suggest that you keep up-to-date with restrictions in your home location and the destination you are travelling to, using the Australian Government COVID-19 Restriction Checker or New Zealand’s Unite Against COVID-19 page. These sites also will be able to point you in the direction of information about travel passes, like the Queensland Government’s recently announced border pass.

If you have visited a known hotspot and you need to cancel, please call the Owner Services team.

STATE COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS
Western Australia currently requires all travellers coming from Victoria to self-isolate for 14 days. Our Owner Services team will give Victorian owners travelling to Western Australia or Western Australian owners travelling to Victoria with check-in dates before June 30 the opportunity to cancel.

The bubble arrangement between Victoria and New Zealand is paused until June 22. Owner Services will give New Zealand owners travelling to Victoria or Victorian owners travelling to New Zealand with check-in dates before June 22 the opportunity to cancel.

If any of these invitations to cancel applies to you, please confirm the cancellation using the message that the Owner Services team will send you and the team will return your credits to your account or, if they have expired, issue a voucher within 14 days for future use.

Other current state restrictions centre around hotspots. Under the COVID-19 cancellation policy, if you have visited a hotspot and are prevented from travelling to your reserved accommodation, you will also be able to cancel without penalty and have your credits returned.

If you are from Melbourne and you are travelling to Dinner Plain, you do not require a COVID-19 test, but if you plan on skiing or visiting Mt Hotham during your stay, you are required to get tested for COVID-19 and receive a negative result within 72 hours of departing to go to Dinner Plain. INTERNATIONAL RESERVATIONS IN JULY
Club Wyndham Denarau Island, Club Wyndham Dreamland Bali and Club Wyndham Normandy will be closed during July. The Owner Services team will soon begin cancelling the reservations for the month.

If you are affected by these closures, you will receive a message informing you and your credits will be returned to your account or, if they have expired, a voucher will be issued within 14 days for future use.

Club Wyndham Bavaria and Club Wyndham Tuscany will re-open from July 2, while properties in Thailand, Hawaii and Japan are open – these can be used by owners who are locally based and able to access them. Owners with reservations who are not based locally will be given the option to cancel. If that cancellation applies to you, please confirm it using the message that you will be sent. Reservations made before January 25, 2021 can be cancelled seven days prior to check-in without penalty while those made on that date or afterward are subject to the standard guidelines.

If those conditions are met, the Owner Services team will return your credits to your account or, if they have expired, issue a voucher within 14 days for future use.

It is each owner’s responsibility to ensure that a booking is cancelled. If you do not receive a text message or a cancellation confirmation email, your reservation remains confirmed.
