Overlooking nearby Lake Hibara and the Bandai Asahi National Park, this lakeside resort is famed for its natural surroundings. Newly renovated and opened in late 2015, Urabandai Lake Resort comprises a luxurious wing and a soothing onsen with water piped in from the Nekoma Hot Springs (day trip services available). Japanese and French restaurants, a cafe, an art gallery, retail outlets and day spa are some of the resort’s other offerings. Overlooking Mt. Bandai, one of Japan’s top 100 mountains, Lake Ebara spreads underneath. Goshikinuma, which is famous for weaving various colours every time you see it, is a 3-minute walk away. Urabandai is part of the Bandai-Asahi National Park and its spectacular alpine scenery attracts all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts including hikers, climbers, anglers, skiers and snowboarders. Urabandai has a humid climate with warm summers and cold winters. The annual mean temperature is 9°C, with an average maximum of 23°C in summer & an average minimum of -5°C in winter.
MAINTENANCE 2020: The resort will be undergoing maintenance between the dates of 7-12 December 2020, during this period the resort will be closed and no reservations will be accepted.
IMPORTANT: All rooms in this resort have a private bathroom. Public baths are both outdoor and indoor onsens (mineral hot springs). Clothing, swimwear or display of tattoos are not permitted in onsens.

Mandatory SRC Surcharge (can be paid by cash or credit card):
- JPY 1,000 per adult & JPY 500 per child (6 – 12 years old) per night for the 1st & 2nd night
- JPY 700 per adult & JPY 350 per child (6 – 12 years old) per night from the 3rd night onwards
Snow Facilities: Ski lockers are available.
Private Indoor Onsen: Available in the annex building for JPY 1,100 per person per hour including GST but must book in advance.
