Covid-19 Update 20 May 20 – Resort Opening Update

May 20, 2020 | Latest Announcements, Latest News

Many Club Wyndham South Pacific owners have already expressed how much they are looking forward to the re-opening of their Club Wyndham South Pacific resorts in the coming weeks. Likewise, our teams cannot wait to welcome you back.

As the time draws closer, I will provide regular email updates about the progress of our re-opening roadmap. Some state governments in Australia have not yet committed to a timeframe to ease restrictions, so there may be times we will have to adjust our plan to fit regulations.

My correspondence will update you on any changes to re-openings, reservations, cancellation policies and other relevant information.

OPENINGS

We are working towards the dates contained in our re-opening roadmap, which we released recently online. You can see it here.

The schedule conforms to the travel restrictions released by national and state governments. Our teams are currently readying your resorts for these dates, implementing enhanced cleaning and hygiene protocols and undergoing training to ensure all owners have a healthy and safe resort experience when they next stay.

The New South Wales Government has announced an easing of travel restrictions overnight, however, we are still working towards our original reopening dates starting from 15 June to ensure our specialist hygiene equipment has arrived and is in place, to provide the highest possible level of safety for you and our team members.

BOOKINGS

We will shortly reopen resort bookings in June and July for any Club properties that have not yet reached 50 per cent occupancy. Some owners have already expressed support for this idea and we appreciate their enthusiasm about travelling.

We are currently working on our platforms to deliver a seamless booking process for owners which will allow online bookings whilst monitoring the 50 per cent occupancy threshold the Club has set. We hope to make this available soon and thank you for your patience.

Our teams have received questions about the necessity of opening in a reduced capacity. We are doing this so that social distancing requirements can be observed, in line with government directives. We are also using this as an opportunity to ensure we are consistently delivering the safe environment for our owners that is expected post-COVID-19.

We anticipate there will be scope to raise this maximum occupancy by July. However, we are not in a position to announce this while travel restrictions are constantly moving.

CONTRACTED RESORTS

We are currently working with our partners at our seven contracted resorts in Australia to establish the dates that these can be made available to you.

As mentioned, we have rethought our own sanitisation and hygiene procedures and we are working hard with our contracted resorts to ensure that each of these properties can deliver an experience consistent with that offered at Club resorts.

We hope to make an announcement on opening dates for these resorts soon.

CANCELLATIONS

As mentioned in previous emails, our teams have been systematically cancelling remaining reservations for dates where resorts are closed. If your reservation has been cancelled, please consider re-booking your reservation at the same resort later in the year using the Club Wyndham website, clubwyndhamsp.com, or by calling Owner Services:

NZ: 0800 850 160

Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time. We continue to remain positive that we will be able to reopen on schedule. Our teams are humbled by the support they have received from you and from the interest you continue to express in returning to your resorts.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
