Covid-19 Update 7 May 20 – Resort Opening Update

May 7, 2020 | Latest Announcements, Latest News

Last month, we made the difficult decision to keep Club Wyndham South Pacific resorts closed until May 31.

In recent days, there has been increasing discussion on when the current COVID-19 health and travel restrictions may be relaxed or lifted, particularly within Australia and New Zealand. We have been following the developments and are pleased to announce a preliminary opening plan for some of your resorts.

Resort Openings

Subject to government restrictions on both travel and facilities, we intend to open the following resorts from 1 June, to a maximum of 50 per cent capacity:

  • Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island
  • Club Wyndham Dunsborough
  • Club Wyndham Shoal Bay
  • Ramada Resort by Wyndham Golden Beach
  • Ramada Resort by Wyndham Rotorua Marama

The following resorts will open on 15 June to a maximum of 50 per cent capacity, also depending on government restrictions:

  • Club Wyndham Dinner Plain Mt Hotham
  • Club Wyndham Torquay
  • Club Wyndham Kirra Beach
  • Ramada by Wyndham Marcoola Beach
  • Club Wyndham Seven Mile Beach
  • Club Wyndham Flynns Beach

These resorts have been selected based on the space they offer, the ability to implement social distancing onsite and their accessibility as drive-to destinations if border closures continue. At this stage, other resorts will remain closed. We are yet to set timelines for contracted properties like Club Wyndham Crown Towers and Club Wyndham Lakes Entrance.

Our teams are continuing to monitor the latest government health and safety restrictions and our plan will evolve with them. We will keep you informed of any changes.

Cancellation Policy Update

However, recognising that owners may not currently wish to travel or border restrictions may continue to prevent travel to some places, we are also extending our cancellation policy until July 31 to offer travel flexibility. This means that, if you have a reservation starting in June or July, you are able to cancel without penalty.

If your reservation is cancelled, your credits will be deposited into your account and, if these credits have already expired, you will receive a voucher that provides additional availability.

Reservations at the above properties after their respective opening dates will not automatically be cancelled. In the coming days, our Owner Services team will send out a text message which will give you the opportunity to cancel, if you wish. There will be no need for you to call Owner Services.

June reservations at properties that are closed will be systematically cancelled by the Owner Services teams. You will initially be sent a text message and, if you quickly confirm the cancellation, the team can process it. There will be no need for you to call Owner Services.

At this stage, July reservations will not be cancelled automatically. We will let you know closer to the date whether this needs to happen at some properties.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. Our teams are looking forward to welcoming you to your resorts as soon as it is safe to do so. We will provide you with further information on your other resorts soon.

In the meantime, please keep healthy and safe.

Kind regards,
