Resort Report – 29 August

Recently, there have been some positive signs regarding the COVID-19 situation, particularly in Australia. However, realising that the situation may take some time to rectify, we extended the dates of our COVID-19 cancellation policy this week to give owners more freedom to cancel without penalty.

Our teams continue to monitor the situation and will respond as appropriate.

CURRENT RESORT PROJECTS

CLUB WYNDHAM TORQUAY

Work is underway on the porte cochere at Club Wyndham Torquay. All the roofing and lighting will be replaced along this driveway area so it can be utilised in any weather.

Contractors are currently onsite to carry out further works at the resort. The project will involve re-painting the indoor pool area, interior corridors and public areas, and re-painting and re-rendering the exterior of all buildings. The heating systems in the indoor pool, outdoor spa and outdoor kids’ pool will also be upgraded as part of the project.

The work is scheduled to be completed by the December holidays.

As a mixed-use property with club apartments and residential apartments, the refurbishment of the common areas is a project that sits with the property’s owners’ corporation who are assisted by Resort Management by Wyndham – the property manager. Representatives from Club Wyndham South Pacific sit on the owners’ corporation.

Next year, the ceilings in the resort common areas will be repainted and the corridors will be re-carpeted. Dates have not yet been confirmed.

CLUB WYNDHAM AIRLIE BEACH

A balcony restoration project is taking place at Club Wyndham Airlie Beach between now and the end of the year. Work is due to begin in the coming week and is estimated to finish late in December. These works sit with the body corporate, which is assisted by Resort Management by Wyndham, the property manager.

The hours of work will be 6.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday. Power tools and mechanical equipment will be required, but there is expected to be a minimal impact to owners and guests as the loud equipment cannot be used before 9am.

All resort facilities will remain open, subject only to COVID-19 restrictions.
