Resort Report – 5 September

September 5, 2020 | Resort Report

Our teams continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and respond to the latest health and travel advice. Border closures within Australia and internationally are expected to continue next month, so we are currently assessing an extension to our cancellation policy into October.

You can find our latest cancellation policy here.

Even though there is some uncertainty in the current environment, all owners may book Club Wyndham South Pacific resorts up to 13 months into the future and I would encourage you to take advantage of this window.

While some of our resorts are closed, we have been fast-tracking refurbishment projects where it has been possible.

In previous editions of Resort Report, we have informed you about works at:

  • Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island
  • Club Wyndham Flynns Beach
  • Club Wyndham Airlie Beach
  • Club Wyndham Torquay

Works have also been underway at Club Wyndham Denarau Island during its extended closure. The team have conducted deep cleans of resort rooms, including plastering, re-grouting, painting, replacing damaged fittings, fly screens and window track rollers where appropriate, and treating drains and sinks. Timber decks and roof slats in the Presidential Apartments have also been sanded and oiled and the pools have been re-grouted.

A number of balcony rails across the resort have been replaced, while some stairwells and the wooden deck near reception were sanded back and oiled. Many of the team also pitched in to complete a number of minor repairs after Cyclone Harold earlier in the year.

The kids’ club at the resort is undergoing a transformation, which includes the addition of a kids’ outdoor theatre, paint job, new kitchen and new shade sail. In addition, all the resort’s external buildings are being re-painted.

We have been planning a renovation of the swim-up bar at the main pool, Dua Tale, which will begin next month and is expected to conclude in early December. New balcony shade sails and barbecues will also soon be installed in the Grand Apartments.

There’s now Wi-Fi around the pool bar and beach shack, which will be free for owners to use. New kayaks and paddle boards have arrived and these will also be available on a complimentary basis.

The resort has also installed a lovo pit which will be used for a weekly lovo night. Owners will be able to sample kava on arrival and be entertained by the resort’s fire dancers.

As yet, we are unsure when we will be able to re-open Club Wyndham Denarau Island but our team is eagerly anticipating owners returning. We will let you know promptly once we have a date.

It has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm from owners about our Apollo Motorhome offer. Owners have already booked all availability on offer for the year in just a few days, which is unprecedented demand.

I hope all of you who have booked motorhomes enjoy your holiday. If you have missed out on the credit offer but you still want to try this type of holiday for yourself, a 20 per cent special discount offer on Apollo’s cash rate is available through Lifestyle by Wyndham. Visit the website here.

We look forward to welcoming you back to your resorts soon.
