Resort Update – 2 December

December 2, 2021 | Latest Announcements

Please be advised that our teams are keeping a close eye on any changes to international and domestic border restrictions.

Multiple states and territories have just announced new measures for incoming travellers in response to the emergence of the Omicron COVID-19 variant.

The Australian Government made an announcement regarding travellers that have been to nine countries in Southern Africa. These travellers will be required to quarantine in a Government quarantine hotel for 14 days, regardless of which state or territory they land upon arrival in Australia.

All vaccinated returning overseas travellers will be required to complete a PCR test and self-isolate at a nominated location in NSW, the ACT and Victoria under tightened state government measures to manage the Omicron variant. We encourage you to visit each state’s web site for details.

To enter South Australia, International travellers from any country will now also need to quarantine for 14 days, rather than seven, due to concerns about the Omicron variant. Visit the web site for further information here: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/travel

Tasmania has also just banned people who have been in ANY overseas location, not including New Zealand’s South Island, from entering the state. This prevents anyone who was overseas in the 14 days prior to Sunday 28th November 2021 from entering the State. The exception to the above is vaccinated Tasmanian residents and specialist workers arriving in Australia from overseas who have been able to seek approval to enter the State and quarantine on arrival.

Other travellers that meet the Federal Government criteria for returning to Australia will also need to follow the quarantine rules of the State or Territory they land, upon arrival.

There has been no indication of any changes to Fiji or New Zealand borders as yet.

  • Quarantine free travel from Australia to New Zealand remains suspended.
  • Fiji is accepting fully vaccinated travellers with guidelines for travel outlined on the Care Fiji Page and on your club web site here

Some new requirements have also been announced for interstate travellers. People travelling into South Australia from low-risk or moderate-risk LGAs, such as Sydney or Melbourne, must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
