Australia is slowly coming to grips with the latest COVID-19 situation, with restrictions lifted in regional Victoria and snap lockdowns lifted in parts of Queensland. However, much of New South Wales remains under lockdown.

 

If you are travelling, please keep up-to-date with the latest restrictions in your destination by visiting the Australian Government’s COVID-19 Restriction Checker or New Zealand’s Unite Against COVID-19 page.

 

STATE COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

Yesterday, the Victorian Government announced a seven-day extension of the Melbourne lockdown, until Thursday, 19 August and the ACT Government has today announced a seven-day lockdown running until the same date.

 

As a result, our Owner Services team is sending the following groups an invitation to cancel their reservations:

  • Owners based in Melbourne with a reservation with a check-in date on or before August 19
  • Owners based outside of Victoria with reservations in Victoria with a check-in date on or before August 19
  • Owners based in Victoria (outside Melbourne) with reservations outside the state with a check-in date on or before August 19
  • Owners based in the ACT with reservations outside the territory with a check-in date on or before August 19

 

Our teams are keeping a close eye on government announcements and updates in restrictions. At this point, our COVID-19 cancellation policy covers New South Wales reservations and owners until August 28 and we will update this as new information comes to hand.

HOTSPOTS

At present, many border restrictions involve entire states but, when the situation eventually abates, we may begin to see a return to the hotspot system. If you live in one or have travelled through one – or if you cannot otherwise fulfil your reservation – please contact our Owner Services team:

Please be aware that there may be a spike in call volumes if a government has just made a COVID-19 related announcement.

 

If the COVID-19 cancellation policy is applied in response to any of the conditions above, the team will return your credits to your account or, if they have expired, issue a voucher within 14 business days for future use.

 

Please be aware that it is up to you to ensure your reservation is cancelled. If you do not receive a text message or a cancellation confirmation email, your reservation still remains confirmed.
