Resort Update – 29 July

July 29, 2021 | Latest Announcements

Australia is starting to receive some positive news with the lifting of lockdowns in Victoria and South Australia. However, our thoughts continue to be with owners in parts of New South Wales who are still in lockdown and will be in the weeks to come.

When travelling, please keep up-to-date with all restrictions at your destination – including face mask and social distancing restrictions – as well as the border crossing to return home. The latest developments in every state are available at the Australian Government’s COVID-19 Restriction Checker while New Zealand’s restrictions are available at the Unite Against COVID-19 page.

STATE COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

While lockdowns have lifted in Victoria and South Australia, other states still have border restrictions for travellers from these states. The New South Wales government has also announced a continuation of the lockdown for the Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Wollongong and the Blue Mountains areas, with an estimated end date of August 28.

As a result, Owner Services will send the following groups an invitation to cancel their reservations:

  • Owners based in Victoria or South Australia with reservations outside their states with check-in on or before August 12
  • Owners based outside of Victoria with reservations in Victoria with check-in on or before August 12
  • Owners based in New South Wales with reservations in any club resort in New South Wales or in a different state or territory, or New Zealand, due to check-in on or before August 28
  • All owners travelling into New South Wales from elsewhere, due to check-in on or before August 28

If any of these invitations to cancel applies to you, please confirm the cancellation using the message that the Owner Services team will send you.

In addition, Owner Services have already sent invitations to cancel for New Zealand owners travelling to Australia and Australian owners travelling to New Zealand with check-in dates between now and September 17, after New Zealand suspended its travel bubble arrangement with Australia.

Please be reassured that our teams are keeping a close watch on the latest developments and will adjust the policy as necessary.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

Club Wyndham Denarau Island, Club Wyndham Normandy and Club Wyndham Dreamland Resort Bali are currently closed.

The Owner Services team has already given owners with bookings at these three resorts the opportunity to cancel their August and September reservations without penalty, and will now do the same for October reservations, based on the state of the COVID-19 situation in these markets.

HOTSPOTS

Recently, most states have implemented a hotspot system putting restrictions on travel from areas of concern. If you live in a hotspot or have travelled through one and you are concerned it may affect your reservation, please contact Owner Services:

AU: 1300 850 160

NZ: 0800 850 160

FJ: 00 800 32 63

Intl: +61 7 5512 8021

Or email owner.services@wyn.com

The Owner Services team can waive cancellation penalties on a case-by-case basis in these circumstances. Please keep in mind that, if you are calling in, that you may experience higher than usual call volumes, particularly when COVID-19 related announcements are made.

If the COVID-19 cancellation policy is applied, the team will return your credits to your account or, if they have expired, issue a voucher within 14 days for future use.

Please be aware that it is up to you to ensure your reservation is cancelled. If you do not receive a text message or a cancellation confirmation email, your reservation still remains confirmed.

The latest updates are also on our owner Facebook group using this link. You will need to provide your owner number to join.

Thank you for your patience over the last few weeks. We hope that the restrictions will continue to be eased – particularly in New South Wales – and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
