Resort Update – 29 June

June 29, 2021 | Latest Announcements

Following yesterday’s announcement regarding updates to our cancellation policy, additional hotspots, state and territory border closures and lockdowns have been announced today.

The Queensland Premier has announced from 6pm tonight until 6pm Friday 2nd July 2021, the following Local Government Areas will go into lockdown: Townsville, Palm Island, Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Gold Coast.

There have also been additional changes announced by the Western Australian Government.

Changes to the New Zealand Travel Bubble have also been announced. Quarantine-free travel from select states of Victoria, South Australia, ACT and Tasmania are set to resume from 11:59pm (NZT) on Sunday 4th July 2021. Negative pre-departure tests will be required to enter New Zealand.

As a result, we have made changes to our COVID-19 cancellation policy.

Most states have hotspot restrictions in effect at the moment and you can find these by visiting the Australian Government COVID-19 Restriction Checker. You can see New Zealand’s restrictions at its Unite Against COVID-19 page. We would recommend you keep up-to-date with the restrictions in your home state and the destinations you are planning to visit.

The following groups will receive an invitation to cancel under the amended COVID-19 cancellation policy:

Australian owners

  • Australian owners travelling to New Zealand resorts until July 4, 2021

  • All stays at Club Wyndham Kirra Beach until July 2, 2021

Please note: Queensland and Western Australian resorts will remain open. Restaurants and cafes will be take out only, and the resorts will have limits on use of facilities such as swimming pools and gyms.

The situation is changing rapidly by state and territory across Australia and across New Zealand. Our teams are closely monitoring the changes and will send out updates, as soon as they become known.
