Security Protocols Update

July 12, 2021 | Owner Announcements

The protection of your personal information and the security of our systems are a priority for our company in the management of the club. We regularly review our security procedures including all policies regarding identification of owners as well as regular testing of all online security controls.

We have recently been made aware of suspicious activity involving attackers who have accessed the personal email accounts of a few owners and, as a consequence there has been unauthorised activity on their Lifestyle or Club reservation accounts.  We would like to reassure you that our systems have not been hacked or compromised, and this appears to have only affected a few owners, who have all been made aware of this activity.

Following our review of these incidents, to mitigate any cyber threat and unauthorised use of your ownerships, we are introducing new security measures as of today, as follows:

  • As is becoming more common practice, Photo ID (e.g. driver’s license or passport) will now be required on check in at your club resorts to ensure the guest matches the name on the reservation.
  • If the reservation is for your guest, it is essential that you have updated the reservation with the guest’s name who is staying, as their ID is required to match the name on the booking at check in.  Failure to provide guest details may result in the guest being unable to check in.
  • For any existing guest bookings, click here to update your reservation with the guests’ names. These will be updated within 72 hours and a new confirmation email issued.

Please note that resort teams will not be authorised to update owner reservations.

  • For new reservations on your club website, a guest name must be advised at the time of making a guest reservation to ensure the correct name is printed on the confirmation, and to avoid entry to the apartment being refused.
  • Please contact Owner Services if you become aware of any unauthorised or suspicious activity on your accounts.

We also recommend that you consider changing your online passwords regularly – including your club account and your internet/email provider.  Cybercriminals have many password- hacking tactics at their disposal and if you have been using the same password on your internet or email account for a long period, you are at greater risk of being compromised.
